Colony Stimulating Factor Receptor Type 1 (CSF1R)

Target
CSF1R
Molecular classification
Receptor, Type III protein tyrosine kinase receptor
01

Overview

The colony stimulating factor receptor type 1, encoded by CSF1R, is essential for normal development, function, and survival across multiple tissue-resident immune populations. Its dysregulation contributes directly to pathologies ranging from neurodegeneration to cancer. It is a receptor tyrosine kinase activated by CSF-1/M-CSF and IL-34, primarily expressed on myeloid lineage cells.

Other names
Macrophage colony-stimulating factor receptorM-CSFRCD115c-FMS
02

Mechanism of action

CSF1R inhibitors block the tyrosine kinase activity of the receptor, preventing downstream signaling. Antibodies against CSF1/M-CSF neutralize the ligand, preventing receptor activation.
