COMMD10 antisense RNA 1 (COMMD10-AS1) is an antisense long noncoding RNA transcribed from the genomic locus opposite the COMMD10 gene. Antisense RNAs are noncoding transcripts that can modulate the expression of their corresponding "sense" gene or affect chromatin structure, transcription, or mRNA stability via cis or trans mechanisms. Specific biological activities for COMMD10-AS1 have not been experimentally demonstrated, but, as a member of this molecular class, it may play a regulatory role in gene expression or epigenetic processes. No direct implications for disease, therapeutic targeting, or clinical application have been documented for this RNA.
