COMMD5 pseudogene 1 (COMMD5P1)

COMMD5 pseudogene 1 (COMMD5P1) is a non-coding genetic element classified as a pseudogene of the COMMD5 gene, which belongs to the COMM domain-containing protein family. Unlike its parent gene COMMD5, which is involved in epithelial cell phenotype regulation and has both tumor suppressor and oncogenic roles in some human cancers[2][3], COMMD5P1 is not transcribed into a functional protein and does not participate directly in known biological pathways or disease mechanisms.
