Complement C3 mRNA is the transcript produced from the gene encoding complement component 3, a pivotal soluble glycoprotein of the complement cascade. The mRNA itself is not directly involved in immune functions but serves as the intermediary for protein production. The C3 protein plays a central role in innate immunity by opsonizing pathogens, stimulating inflammatory responses, and linking innate and adaptive immunity.
