01

Overview

Complement pathway proteins are a group of more than 30 soluble and membrane-bound plasma proteins that play a central role in innate immunity. They function as part of the complement system, which is one of the body's primary mechanisms for recognizing and eliminating pathogens. Activation leads to opsonization, chemotaxis & inflammation, and direct lysis. Dysregulation is associated with infections and autoimmune diseases.
