Constitutive coactivator of PPAR-gamma-like protein 1 (FAM120A) is a cytosolic, RNA-binding scaffolding protein implicated in oxidative stress response and cancer biology. It facilitates cell survival signaling under oxidative stress conditions, potentially by regulating SRC family kinase activation and acting as a scaffold for PI3-kinase activation. FAM120A binds to IGF2 RNA, promoting the production of IGF2 protein. Disease associations include autism spectrum disorder and gastric cancer, where it may support cancer cell survival and metastasis. There are currently no documented small molecule drugs targeting FAM120A directly, and its major roles are considered regulatory or supportive rather than therapeutic[1][2][3][4][7][10][11][12].
