Contactin associated protein-like 3B pseudogene (CNTNAP3B pseudogene) is a noncoding genomic element similar in sequence to the parent protein-coding gene CNTNAP3B, which is itself a member of the contactin-associated protein family involved in cell adhesion[1][2]. As a pseudogene, this locus does not produce a functional protein, but may exert regulatory effects via its RNA through mechanisms such as microRNA competition, lncRNA formation, or modulation of its parental gene expression through molecular decoys or RNA-binding protein interactions[3][7]. Pseudogenes may have subtle regulatory roles in disease pathogenesis, but CNTNAP3B pseudogene is not presently recognized as a drug target, disease marker, or receptor. No drugs are known to interact directly with it, and there is no specific mechanism or safety challenge described in the literature for this target[2][3].
