COPB2 divergent transcript (COPB2-DT) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located in proximity to the COPB2 protein-coding gene, as defined by the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee (HGNC)[7]. As a divergent transcript, it belongs to a class of lncRNAs that are transcribed in the opposite direction nearby a protein-coding gene but does not encode a protein[5][7]. COPB2-DT is affiliated with the lncRNA class and is not currently associated with well-characterized biological functions, pathways, or drug interactions. Unlike COPB2 (the protein-coding gene encoding a COPI coatomer subunit implicated in vesicular transport and cancer)[1][2], COPB2-DT itself is not established as a therapeutic target or biomarker, though it appears in disease association databases primarily with rare references such as Miller syndrome[5]. There is currently no evidence to suggest it serves as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or regulatory protein, nor is it directly druggable or implicated in mechanism-based pharmacology.
