Target intelligence / Profile preview
Corneal limbal stem cells (LSCs), also known as corneal epithelial stem cells, are unipotent stem cells located in the basal epithelial layer of the corneal limbus—the border region between the cornea and sclera. These cells are essential for maintaining and regenerating the corneal epithelium, replacing lost or damaged cells, and preventing conjunctival cell migration onto the cornea.
