Corticosteroid Hormone Receptor (CHR)

Target
CHR
Molecular classification
Nuclear Hormone Receptor, Transcription Factor, Receptor
01

Overview

Corticosteroid hormone receptors are a class of intracellular receptors that bind corticosteroids, including glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids. They are members of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily and function as ligand-activated transcription factors, regulating gene expression in response to steroid hormones. The main subtypes are the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) and the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR). Activation leads to diverse physiological processes, including metabolic control, immune modulation, and stress adaptation.
