Corticotrophin-releasing factor receptor 1 (CRHR1)

Target
CRHR1
Molecular classification
G-protein coupled receptor, Receptor
01

Overview

Corticotrophin-releasing factor receptor 1 (CRHR1) is a G-protein coupled receptor that binds neuropeptides from the corticotropin-releasing hormone family, primarily corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) and urocortin (UCN). It plays a central role in coordinating endocrine, autonomic, and behavioral responses to stress via the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis). Dysregulation has been implicated as a potential target for treatment of depression and anxiety disorders due to its central role in stress response modulation.
