Corticotropin-Releasing Factor Receptor 2 (CRF2)

Target
CRF2
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor, Receptor
01

Overview

Corticotropin-Releasing Factor Receptor 2 (CRF2) is a G protein-coupled receptor that modulates stress responses both centrally and peripherally. It is activated by urocortins and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), leading to downstream signaling events. It is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, heart, skeletal muscle, and gastrointestinal tract, and plays a role in cardiovascular function, gastric motility, and stress adaptation. Selective antagonists like astressin-II B and antisauvagine–30 are useful tools for research and potential therapeutics.
