COTL1 antisense RNA 1 (COTL1-AS1)

Target
COTL1-AS1
Molecular classification
Long noncoding RNA, Other (lncRNA, non-protein coding transcript)
01

Overview

COTL1 antisense RNA 1 (COTL1-AS1) is a noncoding RNA transcribed from the locus antisense to the coactosin-like protein 1 (COTL1) gene. As of current research, there is little to no functional characterization of COTL1-AS1 in the scientific literature. The majority of experimental work and disease associations pertain to the protein COTL1, not the antisense RNA, and public databases do not recognize COTL1-AS1 as a canonical therapeutic target[1][2][3]. The inclusion of COTL1-AS1 as a druggable target or biomarker is not established in clinical or experimental frameworks.

Mechanism of action

None known (for COTL1-AS1)

03

Biological functions

Other (No experimentally validated biological functions are described in current public literature. For the protein COTL1, actin binding, cytoskeleton regulation, leukotriene biosynthesis, and cell migration are established functions; for COTL1-AS1, none are characterized.)
04

Disease associations

Other (No documented disease roles. Research is focused on COTL1 protein in cancer, inflammation, autoimmune disease, and cell migration, but not on COTL1-AS1 itself.)
