CXADRP1 (Coxsackie virus and adenovirus receptor pseudogene 1) is a human pseudogene found on chromosome 21 at location 21q11.2, according to HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee and Monarch Initiative resources[4][7]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but non-functional; they typically arise from duplication or retrotransposition events[2][4][5]. CXADRP1 shares homology with the CXADR gene, which encodes the Coxsackievirus and adenovirus receptor (CAR), but CXADRP1 itself does not encode a functional protein or possess receptor activity[2][4][7]. It does not participate in cell adhesion, virus binding, or intracellular signaling. There is currently no evidence for a therapeutic or biomarker role for this pseudogene.
