CRIM1 divergent transcript (CRIM1-DT) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is divergently transcribed from the CRIM1 gene region. Divergent lncRNAs are a common feature in mammalian gene regulation, often arising from bidirectional promoter activity near protein-coding genes and may be involved in regulation of gene expression, although their individual functions are frequently uncharacterized[2][4]. The specific biological role, therapeutic relevance, and disease implications of CRIM1-DT (RP11-490M8.1) are not established in the literature. It should not be confused with the CRIM1 protein or with circCRIM1, a circular RNA from the same locus implicated in cancer metastasis and drug resistance[1][3]. The CRIM1 divergent transcript is not a validated drug target, enzyme, transporter, or receptor and has no known clinical or pharmacological significance.
