Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus Glycoprotein Precursor (CCHFV Glycoprotein Precursor)

Target
CCHFV Glycoprotein Precursor
Molecular classification
Viral glycoprotein, Polyprotein, Type I transmembrane protein
01

Overview

The glycoprotein precursor of the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) is encoded by the M segment of the viral genome. This large precursor protein undergoes complex posttranslational processing, generating mature glycoproteins Gn and Gc, which are essential for viral entry. Cleavage by furin produces GP38, a secreted glycoprotein involved in immune modulation. The glycoproteins are key targets for diagnostics and vaccine development.
