CRK proto-oncogene, adaptor protein (CRK) is a member of the adapter protein family and encodes a protein containing src-homology (SH2 and SH3) domains, allowing it to interact with tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and mediate signal transduction. CRK is involved in key cellular processes such as cell adhesion, migration, spreading, actin dynamics, and phagocytosis, often acting downstream of receptor tyrosine kinases (e.g., c-Met). The protein plays roles in regulating actin cytoskeleton organization and mediating signaling events that affect cell motility and transformation.
