Crystallin zeta pseudogene 1 (CRYZP1)

Target
CRYZP1
Molecular classification
Other (Pseudogene)

Overview

Crystallin zeta pseudogene 1 (CRYZP1) is a human pseudogene found on chromosome 7. It is homologous to the gene coding for zeta-crystallin (a protein with NADPH-dependent quinone reductase activity), but CRYZP1 contains no functional coding sequence, does not produce a protein product, and does not participate in known biological processes or serve as a pharmacological target[6][3][7]. There is no evidence of implication in human diseases, drug interactions, or utility as a biomarker.

Other names
