CSAD antisense RNA 1 (CSAD-AS1)

Target
CSAD-AS1
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), Antisense RNA
01

Overview

CSAD antisense RNA 1, abbreviated as CSAD-AS1, is presumed to be a long non-coding RNA transcribed in the antisense orientation relative to the sense CSAD gene, which encodes cysteine sulfinic acid decarboxylase. While antisense lncRNAs in general can regulate gene expression by interacting with sense gene transcripts, chromatin, or epigenetic modifiers, there is currently no published biochemical, genomic, or clinical evidence specifically characterizing CSAD-AS1 as a distinct molecule, nor as a therapeutic target or biomarker.

02

Mechanism of action

Antisense lncRNAs may modulate gene expression by RNA-RNA interaction, chromatin modification, or transcriptional interference.

03

Biological functions

Regulation of gene expressionChromatin remodeling (general for antisense lncRNAs)Epigenetic regulation (general for antisense lncRNAs)
04

Disease associations

Other (no disease association reported specifically for CSAD-AS1; general antisense lncRNAs may be involved in cancer, immune response, or developmental diseases)
05

Safety considerations

No therapeutic use or safety information is available.
