cTAGE family member 8 (CTAGE8) is a protein-coding gene predicted to function in cargo loading and protein secretion in the endoplasmic reticulum–Golgi transport pathway[1][5][6]. It is annotated as a membrane-associated protein, active predominantly at the endoplasmic reticulum exit site and membrane[1]. CTAGE8’s human protein existence is only supported at the transcript level[4], and it has been identified as a paralog of CTAGE4[1]. There is no evidence to suggest a direct role in disease, interaction with drugs, use as a biomarker, or involvement in classical therapeutic targets such as receptors, enzymes, or transporters[1][5][6]. While occasionally referenced as "cutaneous T-cell lymphoma-associated antigen 8" in generic alias listings, there is no scientific evidence supporting any direct role in lymphoma, cancer, or other diseases[1][5][6]. CTAGE8 should not be considered a therapeutic target.
