Overview

CTDSP2 antisense RNA 1 (CTDSP2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed on the strand opposite to the CTD Small Phosphatase 2 (CTDSP2) gene. Like other antisense lncRNAs, CTDSP2-AS1 may regulate the expression of its sense counterpart gene and/or participate in broader chromatin- and epigenetic-based gene silencing or activation, potentially influencing cellular pathways such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, or differentiation. Its precise biological functions and clinical relevance remain insufficiently characterized. Similar antisense RNAs are increasingly recognized for their roles in gene regulation, cancer biology, and as potential diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers, yet CTDSP2-AS1 itself is not a validated disease biomarker or therapeutic target.
