Overview

CTNNA3 antisense RNA 1 (CTNNA3-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the CTNNA3 gene locus. Unlike protein-coding genes, CTNNA3-AS1 does not encode a protein, and its biological roles are likely related to regulating the expression of the CTNNA3 gene or other loci through RNA-based mechanisms. CTNNA3 itself encodes α-T-catenin, a protein involved in cell-cell adhesion with roles in tumor suppression and cardiac biology[1][2]. There is currently limited information in the literature about the specific biological or disease roles of CTNNA3-AS1, as research has largely focused on the protein-coding CTNNA3 gene[1][2][3].
