Target intelligence / Profile preview
Culture Filtrate Protein 10 (CFP-10) is a 10-kDa protein secreted by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It forms a heterodimeric complex with ESAT-6, which is essential for M. tuberculosis virulence. CFP-10 is highly immunogenic, stimulating T cells and cytokine production, making it a target for diagnostic assays and vaccine development. Recent research shows CFP-10 triggers Ca²⁺ response in neutrophils, indicating proinflammatory activity.
CFP-10 forms a heterodimeric complex with ESAT-6, influencing virulence and immune response through neutrophil activation and cytokine release.
