Cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen (CLA) is a specialized carbohydrate epitope expressed on the surface of certain T cells, particularly those involved in skin immunity. It serves as a key skin-homing receptor, enabling memory T cells to migrate specifically to cutaneous tissues. It acts as a ligand for E-selectin (CD62E), an adhesion molecule expressed by vascular endothelial cells at sites of inflammation in the skin.
