CXXC4 antisense RNA 1 (CXXC4-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene in Homo sapiens. It is transcribed as an RNA molecule but is not believed to code for a protein[3][8][2]. The gene is named as an “antisense” transcript to the nearby CXXC4 gene, but its precise biological function and role in disease have not yet been clearly characterized or linked to a specific pathway or phenotype in current reference sources[8][10][3]. There are no data to support its use as a therapeutic target, nor are there known drugs, mechanisms, or biomarkers directly related to this molecule from current databases and literature[3][8][10]. Clarification: CXXC4-AS1 should not be confused with CXXC finger protein 4 (CXXC4 or Idax), a protein-coding gene with known tumor suppressor properties[1][7]. In the current literature and gene databases, CXXC4-AS1 is classified as a long non-coding RNA, with no established biological or disease role, drug interaction, or biomarker status. Thus, it is not considered a classical molecular target (such as a receptor, enzyme, etc.) for therapeutic intervention[3][8].
