Cyclin B1 Overview

Cyclin B1 (CCNB1) is a regulatory protein essential for entry into and progression through mitosis. It forms a complex with Cdk1 to create maturation-promoting factor (MPF), which controls chromosome condensation, nuclear envelope breakdown, and spindle assembly. Its expression peaks during the G₂/M phase and is tightly regulated to ensure proper timing of mitosis. Dysregulation of CCNB1 is implicated in various cancers.

Mechanism of Action

Inhibition of CCNB1/CDK1 complex
