Cyclin D3 pseudogene 1 (CCND3P1) is a non-protein-coding segment of DNA that resembles the functional cyclin D3 gene (CCND3) but does not encode a functional protein[4]. Pseudogenes typically arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events followed by mutations that abolish protein-coding potential. There is no functional evidence linking CCND3P1 to protein function, disease, drug interactions, or biological pathways. The functional cyclin D3 protein (encoded by CCND3) is an important cell cycle regulator involved in G1/S transition, but pseudogenes such as CCND3P1 are not considered valid drug targets, therapeutic targets, or functional biological entities[4].
