Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A-regulated long non-coding RNA (CYKILR) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 19p13.12, associated with the presence of wild-type CDKN2A and STK11 genes in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It has at least two splicing variants—CyKILRa (nuclear, tumor suppressive) and CyKILRb (cytoplasmic, oncogenic). These variants are differentially regulated by CDKN2A and STK11 and have opposing roles in cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and tumorigenesis. CYKILR is not an enzyme, transporter, or classic receptor but belongs to the class of functional lncRNAs that influence gene expression and signaling in cancer biology.
