Overview

Cyclin-L2 is a member of the cyclin family whose protein product interacts with multiple factors, including RNA polymerase II, splicing proteins, and cyclin-dependent kinases. It functions in regulating pre-mRNA splicing and may induce apoptosis by modulating the transcription and RNA processing of apoptosis-related genes. The gene has multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants leading to different isoforms. CCNL2 is associated with some cancers, such as retinal and ocular cancer, but is not recognized as a direct therapeutic drug target or receptor[1][2][3][4][6].
