Cyclin Q pseudogene 1 (CCNQP1) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the protein-coding gene Cyclin Q (CCNQ), which encodes an activating cyclin for CDK10 that is involved in cell cycle regulation. CCNQP1 itself does not produce a functional protein, and there is no published evidence of direct biological, therapeutic, or diagnostic relevance. Pseudogenes are sometimes implicated in gene regulation via competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) mechanisms, but no such function has yet been described for CCNQP1 specifically.
