CST9L is expressed predominantly in the testis, suggesting involvement in tissue reorganization during early testicular development[2][5]. It is bioinformatically annotated with possible roles in antimicrobial response and endopeptidase inhibition[4], but definitive biochemical function remains unverified. CST9L is not currently considered a therapeutic target or disease biomarker, nor are drugs documented to interact directly with it[2][7].
