Cysteine-rich DPF motif domain-containing protein 1 (CDPF1) is a protein-coding gene located on human chromosome 22 and produces a protein characterized by a DPF motif with several conserved cysteine residues[1][3][5][10]. There is very little functional or mechanistic information about this gene or its protein product. It is not classified as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other major molecular target family, and no biological function, drug interactions, or clinical biomarkers have been established[3][5][8][10]. Misattribution to CDKN1A (Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A, also known as p21) sometimes occurs in gene databases, but CDPF1 and CDKN1A are distinct genes with unrelated functions[3][6][10]. **Critical note:** Some data sources incorrectly list CDKN1A (p21) as a synonym or alias for CDPF1[2][3][10], but CDKN1A refers to a well-known cell cycle regulator (cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21), whereas CDPF1 is a little-understood protein with a DPF motif and unknown biological relevance. There is no evidence that CDPF1 is a therapeutic target or that it plays a direct role in disease pathogenesis or drug response, so it is not regarded as a druggable target or clinical biomarker at this time[3][5][8][10].
