Overview

The cysteinyl-leukotriene type 1 receptor (CysLT1) is a G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR) that mediates the effects of cysteinyl leukotrienes. Primarily activated by leukotriene D4 (LTD4), it plays crucial roles in airway bronchoconstriction, increased vascular permeability, immune cell recruitment, and neuroinflammation. CysLT1 antagonists are used to treat asthma and allergic rhinitis.

Mechanism of action

Selective antagonists block CysLT1 receptor activation, preventing the pro-inflammatory and bronchoconstrictive effects of cysteinyl leukotrienes.
