CYCS pseudogene 29 (CYCSP29), also known as HCP29, is a non-coding genomic sequence in humans that arose as a non-functional copy (pseudogene) of the functional cytochrome c, somatic gene (CYCS)[4][5][3]. Like the majority of cytochrome c pseudogenes, it contains sequence disruptions and lacks both introns and expression evidence, indicating it does not produce a functional protein[3]. There is no evidence that CYCSP29 is expressed or has direct biological or pathological roles in humans. It is not a therapeutic target and has no known relevance for drug development or disease functions[5].
