The cytochrome P450-derived eicosanoid pathway is a crucial enzymatic route for metabolizing polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), particularly arachidonic acid, into bioactive lipid mediators. Key enzymes include epoxygenases (CYP2C/CYP2J) that produce vasodilatory EETs and ω-hydroxylases (CYP4A/CYP4F) that produce vasoconstrictive HETEs.
