01

Overview

Cytochrome P450 4A11 (CYP4A11) is a monooxygenase enzyme involved in the metabolism of fatty acids, particularly the ω-hydroxylation of medium-chain fatty acids and the synthesis of 20-HETE. It plays a role in regulating blood flow, blood pressure, and kidney function. Genetic variants are associated with hypertension and ischemic stroke. Sesamin is known inhibitor.
