Cytochrome P450 family 4 subfamily F member 27, pseudogene (CYP4F27P) is a human genetic locus classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a segment of DNA that resembles a gene but is generally considered nonfunctional and does not encode an active enzyme or receptor[3][5]. While protein-coding genes of the cytochrome P450 (CYP450) superfamily play essential roles in the metabolism of drugs and endogenous compounds[1][4], pseudogenes like CYP4F27P typically do not generate functional proteins or exhibit classical biological activity. Some pseudogenes in general can regulate gene expression of corresponding functional paralogs via RNA-mediated mechanisms such as competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) or serving as microRNA decoys[2], but there is no published evidence that CYP4F27P demonstrates such biological activity. Therefore, CYP4F27P is not considered a therapeutic target, is not associated with drugs, and has no described biomarker or safety profile.
