CYP4F30P is a human pseudogene located within the cytochrome P450 gene superfamily. Although it shares sequence similarity with functional CYP4F genes, it does not encode a functional enzyme due to disabling mutations or regulatory sequence loss. As a pseudogene, CYP4F30P does not contribute to the metabolic functions canonically performed by cytochrome P450 enzymes, nor is it associated with disease, drug metabolism, or biomarker utility in humans. Pseudogenes such as CYP4F30P can arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and, in rare cases, may exert regulatory functions on related genes, but no such role is reported for CYP4F30P
