Cytohesin-interacting protein (CYTIP) is a cytoplasmic protein that binds cytohesin-1 (CYTH1), influencing the activation of ARF GTPases by CYTH1 and potentially functioning to sequester CYTH1 in the cytoplasm. It contains two leucine zipper domains and a putative C-terminal nuclear targeting signal but lacks hydrophobic regions. CYTIP is expressed at low levels in resting natural killer (NK) and T cells, and it interacts with other signaling proteins such as SNX27. Its functions include the regulation of lymphocyte adhesion, cell-cell interaction, and modulation of intracellular signaling cascades, but CYTIP is not presently considered a direct therapeutic target in major diseases[1][5][7][9].
