Cytokine reduction

Cytokine reduction refers to the therapeutic approach of decreasing the levels or biological activity of cytokines—small signaling proteins involved in immune cell communication—to control excessive immune responses, notably in contexts such as cytokine storms, autoimmune diseases, or chronic inflammation. This strategy usually targets multiple pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as TNF, IL-1, IL-6, IFNγ), their receptors, or their intracellular signaling pathways (e.g., JAK-STAT, MAPK), aiming to dampen the feedback mechanisms that drive pathological inflammation, tissue damage, and associated disease states.

Inhibition of cytokine signaling and neutralization of cytokines
