Cytomegalovirus phosphoprotein 65 (CMV pp65)

Target
CMV pp65
Molecular classification
Phosphoprotein, Viral Protein, Tegument protein
01

Overview

Cytomegalovirus phosphoprotein 65 (pp65) is a major structural and immunodominant protein of the human cytomegalovirus (HCMV). It is a tegument protein and one of the most abundantly produced proteins in HCMV virions. pp65 elicits strong CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses in seropositive individuals. It is being explored as a target for adoptive T-cell therapies, especially in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where it serves as a tumor-specific antigen.
