Overview

Cytoplasmic dynein 1 light intermediate chain 1 (DYNC1LI1) is a non-catalytic accessory component of the cytoplasmic dynein 1 complex, a large multisubunit motor protein complex responsible for minus-end-directed transport along microtubules. DYNC1LI1 mediates the linking of dynein to cargo and adapter proteins, regulating multiple intracellular transport processes such as vesicle and organelle movement, chromosome segregation during mitosis, and spindle assembly checkpoint progression. The protein is required for the proper transfer of the spindle assembly checkpoint from kinetochores to spindle poles and facilitates endosome recycling and other cell division events through its roles in the cytoplasmic dynein complex[1][5][9]. Note on therapeutic targeting: DYNC1LI1 itself is not a receptor, enzyme, or classical drug target, but a core structural subunit of a microtubule motor; therefore, no direct drugs, mechanisms of action, or clinical biomarkers are listed for this protein as of current knowledge[1][2].
