Target intelligence / Profile preview
DEAD-box helicase 20 pseudogene 1 (DDX20P1) is a read-through, non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the DDX20 gene, which encodes an ATP-dependent RNA helicase involved in RNA metabolism. Pseudogenes like DDX20P1 do not produce functional proteins and are not used as direct therapeutic targets. Their sequence similarity to functional genes is a result of evolutionary duplication or retrotransposition events; as such, they generally lack significant biological function, disease association, or druggability, unless evidence suggests a regulatory RNA role, which current data does not indicate for DDX20P1[5].
