Target intelligence / Profile preview
DEAD-box helicase 6 pseudogene 1 (DDX6P1) is a genomic locus classified as a pseudogene, meaning it shares sequence similarity with the protein-coding gene DEAD-box helicase 6 (DDX6), but does not produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes generally arise via duplication or retrotransposition and lack known protein function, therapeutic relevance, or disease associations. DDX6P1 has several alternative names but should not be mistaken for the active RNA helicase DDX6, which is involved in RNA metabolism in cells.
