The "DEAD box polypeptide 19B pseudogene" refers to a nonfunctional copy ("pseudogene") of the DEAD box family helicase gene DDX19B, which is typically involved in ATP-dependent RNA helicase activity and mRNA export from the nucleus[1][3]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to regular genes but are nonfunctional due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements, and they do not encode a functional protein product[5]. Because pseudogenes do not produce active protein, they are not considered valid therapeutic targets, biomarkers, or drug interaction nodes. This pseudogene shares high sequence similarity to DDX19B, but unlike DDX19B, it is not transcribed or only transcribed into non-coding RNA without known function.
