DEAD box polypeptide 4 pseudogene (ENSG00000270779) is a non-functional sequence in the human genome homologous to the DEAD-box helicase 4 (DDX4) gene. Pseudogenes generally arise through gene duplication or retrotransposition events that subsequently accumulate disabling mutations, rendering them non-functional and unable to encode active proteins[2][6][7]. While some pseudogenes can play regulatory roles at the RNA level, there is no evidence that this specific pseudogene has biological or clinical significance.
