DEAH-box helicase 9 (DHX9)

Target
DHX9
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Helicase, DEAD/DEAH-box superfamily, SF2 superfamily
01

Overview

DHX9 is a member of the DExH/D box family of RNA helicases. It is an NTP-dependent helicase with the ability to unwind both DNA and RNA duplexes as well as more complex nucleic acid structures. It plays central roles in multiple aspects of nucleic acid metabolism including RNA metabolism, DNA metabolism, transcriptional regulation, genome integrity, and innate immunity. High levels or dysregulation of DHX9 are associated with poor prognosis in several cancers, making it a promising target for oncology research.
