Decaprenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 1 pseudogene 1 (PDSS1P1) is a non-functional genomic region closely related to the gene encoding decaprenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 1 (PDSS1). PDSS1 is a true enzyme involved in elongating the prenyl side chain of coenzyme Q (ubiquinone), essential for electron transfer in the mitochondrial respiratory chain[6].
