Target intelligence / Profile preview
Decaprenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 1 pseudogene 2 (PDSS1P2) is a human pseudogene related to decaprenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 1. Pseudogenes are gene sequences similar to functional genes but are generally non-coding and do not produce functional products. PDSS1P2 has no known biological role, disease association, or therapeutic relevance. The active enzyme, encoded by PDSS1, plays a critical role in the biosynthesis of the coenzyme Q prenyl side-chain, but PDSS1P2 itself is not functional[6].
