Decaprenylphosphoryl-beta-D-ribose oxidase (DprE1)

Target
DprE1
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Oxidase, Flavoenzyme
01

Overview

Decaprenylphosphoryl-beta-D-ribose oxidase (DprE1) is an essential flavoenzyme in *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*. It catalyzes a key step in the biosynthesis of decaprenyl-phospho-arabinose (DPA), an arabinose donor required for the synthesis of arabinogalactan and lipoarabinomannan. DprE1 functions with its partner protein DprE2 and is a validated drug target for tuberculosis.
